La Chaise Bleue Collection

Dear friends, discover here the famous Chaise Bleue which made the legend of the Promenade des Anglais, Nice and the French Riviera.

It was made by our grandfather Charles Tordo. At that time, Mr Jacques Ballanger wanted to create a robust and durable chair for his seaside concessions. He called upon the ingenuity of the Tourrettan inventor Charles Tordo to create this very special chair.

The "Blue Chair" was born in 1948. Our 1950 model follows the design established by our grandfather. We have, however, made some modern improvements which he did not hesitate to use himself in his production. For example, the paint and treatment we apply to our steel make them even stronger than before. And through the poetic magic of numbers, his son Louis Tordo has even rectified the few millimetres and degrees which, in a mysterious and fantastic way, join the golden number...

We have extended our range with brand new chairs (double, high, bench...) and we now offer home articles in the same materials as the chairs (trays, miniatures, bottle coasters, key rings...). You will also find on this site all the home articles and other accessories that we select and have printed with the effigy of the Chaise Bleue.
